The local economy
Thornton-Cleveleys Gala helps the local economy by only using local suppliers. This includes local printers, food and drink suppliers and business owners. The entertainment is provided by local musicians, dance and performing arts schools, children and young people's clubs and societies. Assistance with running the event over the weekend is provided by young people's clubs including the police cadets.
Volunteering, jobs & education
All of our committee members are volunteers and after the doing the project we got several more volunteers wishing to join the committee. We also had 70 members of the public volunteer to be a marshal which could ensure we could hold our parade and music event.
Arts, culture & heritage
Thornton-Cleveleys Gala celebrates the local community by showcasing diverse local talent, including both well-known and up-and-coming performers.
Activity, health and leisure
The Gala Weekend enables the community to come together, to spend time with family and friends, and enjoy some downtime, listening to local talent in very relaxed atmosphere
