We launched 'The Thing About Artists' book on 24 June 2021 at RomBoys screening at Romford Film Festival. 4 local artists from the book are also featured in RomBoys amazing documentary about Rom skatepark (Brave Arts, Flipping Zombies, Simon Skipp and The London Police). The book was on sale for the duration of the film festival - thanks Nat/Spencer! We are now starting the publicity for the book, kicking off with an exhibition/private view at Fairkytes Art Gallery on Thu 1 - Fri 2 July 2021. Artists and partners have started to receive their copies at events and we have begun engaging with local schools.
We are super excited to announce that The Thing About Artists book is with the printers now. It should be ready to be sent out to artists, project partners, schools and libraries in July. If you pledged over £25 your copy will also be winging its way to you in July. We will announce exhibition schedule very soon too. Thanks for your support in making this happen!

The generous pledge from London Borough of Havering means a lot to us as this is a community project involving many artists and organisations across the borough, including Havering Changing who were initial backers. The backing of the council now endorses the hard work we have done so far to build community support and to help raise awareness of art in Havering and surrounding areas. It makes us feel proud that we have got this far and gives us hope that the project will be fully backed by 14 December and that in 2021 we will be bringing this art book and exhibitions to the public in Havering for their enjoyment.
