More about our impact

The environment

The environment

Brought people into our town centre instead of travelling to other places to socialise.

The local economy

The local economy

We prioritised hosting vendors and traders who live and/or work in Ellesmere Port. In doing this, we ensured we were helping the local economy by making sure the money spent locally stayed local. We brought 30% increase in footfall to the main market, which has assisted in the Levelling Up funding bid by Cheshire West and Chester council.

Volunteering, jobs & education

Volunteering, jobs & education

As well as volunteers from within the collective, we helped with jobs by inviting vendors and traders from the local area, and increasing their audience and sales.

Arts, culture & heritage

Arts, culture & heritage

Since our first event we have worked with a musician, a spoken word artist, and local DJs who have provided entertainment at our events. We have also hosted artists as traders at our events, allowing local artists to earn money from their art. Finally, as a member of the collective is a local historian, these events have provided networking opportunities allowing us to continue to support the local history and heritage society in Ellesmere Port.

Activity, health and leisure

Activity, health and leisure

These events, especially our more recent ones with furniture and live DJs, have encouraged residents to spend time in their town centre. Some feedback from local residents has included "it's nice to have something different on", with many attendees commenting that our events give them an opportunity to spend time and money locally, instead of travelling to our near cities.
