The idea
Located in the heart of Ellesmere Port town centre, the flea market is adjacent to the traditional Ellesmere Port market. It is currently open for the flea market every Monday, Thursday and Sunday, however we would like to make use of this space on days which it is unoccupied.
We have held two pop-up food and drink events in the flea market which have been extremely popular. We would like to continue this by making changes to host further events and make the space more inviting.
Ellesmere Port is lacking behind other areas for socialising, live music and other forms of entertainment. The town has had many years of decline in this area, with pubs and venues closing, making the town a less attractive place to live. Local residents are forced to travel to Chester, Liverpool and Manchester, which takes money and jobs out of the local economy.
