Edsential is a Community Interest Company (CIC), established in 2015 and jointly owned by Cheshire West and Chester Council and Wirral Council. We were created to support the education sector through the delivery of high-quality services that improve outcomes for children and young people. As a CIC, our structure allows us to combine public sector values with private sector agility. Any surplus income we generate is reinvested directly into our services or into projects that benefit schools and communities.
We work with all educational settings—maintained schools, academies, free schools, and independent schools—providing a wide range of services including school improvement, health and wellbeing, cultural education, outdoor learning, and creative arts. Our goal is to enrich lives through learning and ensure all children, regardless of background, have opportunities to thrive.
One of our key areas of focus is music and the arts. We offer inclusive, high-impact creative programmes both in schools and the community.
At Edsential, we believe that by investing in young people’s creativity, wellbeing, and aspirations, we help build stronger, more resilient communities.
