The idea
The Patch Allotments are important to our community: there are 221 plots here in Woughton. The allotment is a place where people grow things together. It’s a place where people catch up with one another. It’s a place where people share.
In that same spirit of working together we’re turning to you to ask for some help in ensuring that the allotment can continue to thrive.
Unfortunately, we've recently been affected by theft at the allotments. The reason why we're trying to raise funds for the allotments in Woughton on the Green is to purchase some equipment which was stolen and install a security system. The idea of the equipment is to give new tenants a good start with their patch of land.
Also, we'd like to give as much security as possible to the allotments by replacing the security cameras that were stolen.
What we'll deliver
- Security system with four cameras
- Replacing stolen equipment such as rotavators, strimmers, a mower
Why it's a great idea
Allotments are an important piece of the community fabric here in Milton Keynes.
They help increase awareness of food production. They counter issues of food security through self-sufficiency. They build skills.
And they are also a fun way to connect with community - it doesn’t matter whether you’re young or old, have a green thumb or are new to gardening!
Steps to get it done
- Preparing new plots with bought equipment
- Purchase equipment: 1 rotavator, 1 strimmer and one mower
- Purchasing and installing security system
It’s through active community members that we have a thriving allotment! We would love your involvement in keeping not only this but also community growing in Woughton!
