The idea
The Kids Wedding Club is a Camden-based social enterprise dedicated to empowering young
people from disadvantaged and low-income backgrounds by providing them with training,
certification, and paid work experience in childcare and event management. Founded by myself Amina Begum, a mother and active member of the local Muslim community, our initiative was created in response to a clear need: a lack of accessible employment pathways for young people, combined
with growing demand for trusted, culturally aware childcare at weddings and large community events. Our approach is simple but powerful — we connect both needs to create real jobs, real confidence, and real impact.
The Project We are seeking funding to expand our youth training and employment
programme for 2025, enabling us to train and employ 30 young people aged 16–25 across Camden
and beyond. The project is designed as a structured pathway with three key stages:

1. Training & Certification: Participants receive accredited training in safeguarding, childcare, first
aid, and event professionalism, along with DBS checks.
2. Practical Skills & Confidence Building: Workshops in teamwork, communication, customer
service, and marketing help young people build confidence and employability.
3. Real Paid Experience: Trainees gain supervised, paid experience providing childcare at real
weddings nationwide, with a secured venue partnership in Birmingham.
Objectives:
- Train 30 young people aged 16–25 each year in childcare and event professionalism.
- Equip each participant with DBS clearance and certification.
- Provide mentoring and 30 paid work placements at weddings nationwide.
Expected Outcomes:
- 30 young people gain confidence, qualifications, and experience.
- 150+ hours of training delivered annually.
- 300+ families benefit from trusted childcare.
