Players from flag football club Thanet Mustangs recall GB summer glory at under-17 European Junior Championships
Kent Online“I could talk about flag football forever,” she said.\n\n“We met so many amazing people in Italy - both personally and professionally - and we learned a lot.”\n\nThe 14-year-old joined the Mustangs two years ago to help with socialising.\n\n“I was withdrawn from mainstream school and this has helped me so much,” she added.\n\n“It’s such an inclusive sport and the fact it is non-contact made it less intimidating for me. More about our impact
The environment
Using our local park for our training sessions really helps our young players appreciate nature and value it.
The local economy
We used local shops to provide healthy snacks and drinks for our players.
Volunteering, jobs & education
Without realising it, the children and young people are being educated in skills that will help them through their lives.
Arts, culture & heritage
We ran a design a new jersey for our newly formed u17s team. This really brought out the artistic side of many members.
Activity, health and leisure
ALL of our services are free of charge to all children and young people in Thanet. I have seen what a difference we have already made to so many children who would not be able to attend if there was a charge.
