Hope Student Fundraises for Child ‘Sensory Room’
Liverpool Hope University NewsMelissa explains: “A sensory room is a space designed for children with disabilities and it’s all about engaging the senses, particularly through sight, sound and touch. \n\n“It’s completely sound-proofed so no external noises can penetrate the walls, there are special lights that beam calming patterns on the surfaces, as well as sensory toys, weighted blankets for children who ‘stim’ (aka ‘self-stimulatory behavior’) and we can also pipe calming music into the room.

Activity, health and leisure
whilst the original forecast for this is still at the forefront of the sensory room this has now escalated as we are in a position to include an outdoor sensory area that will accompany the indoor sensory room. whilst the indoor area is focused on lights and calming toys the outdoor sensory area allows for senses that include water and sand play.
