By Team Oasis Children's Charity
Help Team Oasis raise funds to adapt our main activity room so that we can create a fantastic purpose-built sensory room that will be free for our community to use.
Our sensory room will be a safe, secure and happy environment for our children and young people to engage and interact with their senses alongside other children and young people. Team Oasis works with children and young people who have both physical and hidden disabilities. We are based in an area that has high levels of deprivation accessing a sensory room is often a luxury that many of our families simply cannot afford. The room will be free for our children, young people and their families to access and will be overseen by a project manager. This room will be a fantastic asset to the work our charity does within our community, the room is going to be built via sectioning off a part of our main room, the room will then be kitted out with various sensory lights and toys for the children and young people to use at their own leisure. In order to create a calming environment the room will be soundproofed and be decorated with warm and calming colours.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
1. There will be amazing benefits for our children and young people both mentally and physically through engaging with their senses 2. The room will also allow the families of the young people to form relationships with each other which will enhance support within the community. 3. A job of the sensory room manager will also be created, as well as opportunities for volunteering which in turn will create opportunities for work, training and further education for successful candidates.
