Tackley Village Memorial Hall is a vibrant community hub building, which houses a community hall, a pop up pub and a community run village shop and post office.
Our main function of the hall is to supply a community space for local groups, social clubs. The clubs and groups that meet regularly are listed below:
Toddlers group meet every Tuesday morning
Silver threads over 60s club meet once a month and run bingo nights every Saturday night.
Craft Club meets once a fortnight – social club for vulnerable and isolated villagers to meet and knit for charity.
History Society – local history group with a large membership meet once a month.
PTA fundraising committee use the hall to do regular fundraising events to help prop up the village primary school.
Tackley WI – Meet once a month.
Tackley Pop up Pub – Opens once a week on a Friday. The Pop-up pub is a CIC and all the profits from this social club go to Tackley Village Memorial Hall. This pop-up pub opened when our last reminding public house in the village closed and was put on the market.
Additionally, the hall hosts seasonal events and community celebrations, such as summer fairs, Christmas markets, and charity fundraisers, which bring people together and strengthen local bonds. The venue is equipped to support a range of activities, with a fully accessible layout and facilities, ensuring inclusivity for all members of the community.
We organised live music events and themed nights. Tackley had two big housing developments built just before lockdown. Lots of new people moved into the village and then with lockdown they didn’t get an opportunity to integrate into village life. The village hall is right in the centre of the village and also houses the community run village shop and much used post office.
