More about our impact
Volunteering, jobs & education
We have been humbled by the number of people who have donated their time and skills to help the club. 29 volunteers dedicated 400 hours of their time to transform the venue. 20 people now regularly donate their time to support the club through coaching, organisation, financial management, website management and equipment maintenance.
Activity, health and leisure
We welcome all generations to the new facility, including: youngsters and adults with learning difficulties, older people with respiratory, mobility and coronary conditions. By providing a variety of sessions, people can choose what best suits them. e.g. Daytime Bat&Chat sessions which are more socially orientated v adult coaching sessions for those people who are looking to be more active and learn new skills. One of our adults attending Monday coaching, who has severe arthritis said: "Amazing Group to keep healthy" The mother of one of our junior players posted on our Club FB Page: "Super proud of our boy. Being part of a brilliant club with amazing team members and superb coaches really does let you reach for the stars. Thank you Crewe Central/ Bob Hope academy for everything you have done and continue to do for Alex." We are in discussions with Parkinson's UK and Table Tennis England to start dedicated Parkinson's sessions, and are liaising with local community groups to offer sessions for people with Dementia.
