Scheme to deliver cleaner beaches after funds drive
South Wales evening PostA fundraising drive using the scheme has hit its target and now aims to roll out a series of beach cleaning stations.\n\nThe clean-up network, which will supplement daily beach cleans by Swansea Council and litter picks by others, is being coordinated by Helen Wright, of Kingsbridge, Swansea.\n\nIn around five months on the crowdfund website, the project has attracted more than 100 financial support pledges, totalling around £3,360.

The environment
- getting a consistent message around our coast of the #2minutebeachclean messaging / logo - beachclean stations all around the coast - passers by can use the stations to do a quick clean up - I have seen families and groups stop and use the pickers and bags, cleaning up our lovely Swansea & Gower - regular high profile events attracting up to 200 people on good days - involvement of community groups - schools, Beavers, local businesses who want to do beach cleans

Linking in with the Surfers Against Sewage Million Mile Beach clean - recording miles people have walked. Beach clean event also promote wellbeing, we have yoga sessions, music and food.
