This project was funded on 17 May 2020!

The COVID-19 lockdown has had a big impact on Battersea Cricket Club. We have suffered a huge loss of income since we have had to reduce membership fees, will have no match-day subs and reduced sponsorship due to no cricket being possible at the moment. Despite this, we still have bills to pay including insurance, fees to the parent club for pitch maintenance, and costs already incurred such as cricket balls and new kit supplies for the new season. To be able to continue to provide cricket for the local community we need your help to meet some of these costs by donating here! The first £100 that you donate here will be matched by the England & Wales Cricket Board so please give generously! We hope to see cricket back on the ground soon. Thank you to all those who have already given generously, by donating their Junior season membership fees, paying their adult membership fees, keeping their standing orders in place and privately donating. All this is a great help!

What we'll deliver:

  • Payment of critical overheads during COVID crisis to keep the club operating
  • A Cricket pitch ready for play once the lockdown is lifted
  • Strengthen financial reserves for future development plans for the cricket section.

Why it's a great idea:

The lockdown has had a huge impact on people's physical and mental well-being. Cricket is a great form of exercise for people of all ages and we want to be able to offer this again as soon as restrictions are lifted. We have a thriving junior membership and no doubt they will all be itching to play some cricket. With your help we can restore some normality back to life. The idyllic summer scenes of cricket on The Rec and spectators enjoying the sunshine hopefully are not too far away.

Steps to get it done:

  • Run crowdfunding campaign to collect funds for ongoing costs
  • Pay for essential overheads
  • Prepare a cricket pitch that is ready for use when the COVID-19 lockdown ends

We appreciate that not everyone associated with the club will be able to contribute but any help will be much appreciated in keeping the club afloat during this difficult time for everyone.
