The idea
We are inviting everyone in our community to join us for a Summer Party in the Park, at the end of August. As the school year is ready to begin, we would like to take advantage of the last bits of summer by organizing an event for the families to enjoy.
People of all ages can come along and get a face painting, or a temporary tattoo. We will be having games with prizes, and character balloons on sticks for children. Water will be provided during the event, and will encourage everyone to bring along a picnic and share if they wish.
What we'll deliver
- Character balloons on sticks for children
- Enjoyable time in nature
- Games with prizes
- Temporary tattoos
- Ambient Music
- Face painting
- Family fun
- Water during the event
Why it's a great idea
We are bringing people together to enjoy a day out, thus developing our community in Hammersmith & Fulham Borough. It is an event open to the public, so everyone can join free of charge, alongside the families that we work with. Since the school holidays will be coming to an end, a party is a great way to bring the community together to build on the memories of a great summer.
Steps to get it done
- Buying all necessary materials
- Engaging local supporters
- Making all arrangements on the day of the event
- Recruiting volunteers for the day of the event
- Advertising the event
The Summer Party is the finale of our Summer Programme of trips and activities for families who are homeless or living in temporary unsuitable accommodation. Many of the families we are working with are surviving on incomes’ derived from poorly paid work and/or benefits. We are trying to offer the little extras to families, those extras that many take for granted but that often denied the families we work with. If you would like to offer your support for the Summer Programme, please contact us at [email protected] or [email protected].
