We are a small start up charity with a big vision and passion to end mental health suffering for everyone in the local community. We want to enable and empower people in the local community of Bridgnorth and surrounding areas to stay mentally healthy and reach their full potential. Our volunteer-led organisation is committed to providing the best possible solutions to 'stay mentally healthy' with a focus on prevention, whilst also providing intervention through the Self Empowerment Journey (SEJ ) Process training. Each volunteer gives their own time and expertise to ensure no one is left behind when learning how to 'stay mentally healthy' and reach their full potential.
Our charity is founded by the Self Empowerment Journey (The SEJ) founder Mary, she is the originator and creator of the SEJ Process and all related training and services are derived from her own powerful and profound lived experience. Suffering with mental health issues from childhood, she has now been depression free for over 27 years. During this time she has used her wealth of experience to empower others to stay mentally healthy.
The SMH charity offers services that help you to stay mentally healthy and achieve your goals. The training events primarily focus on the SEJ training and are run online and live in person at our designated Hub. They are beneficial as both a prevention for those looking to learn the skills to stay mentally healthy and as an intervention for those currently struggling with mild to moderate mental health problems.
The SMH Café provides a first point of contact for those struggling with their mental health or looking to learn preventative measures. It also provides a safe space to socialise. Services available include SEJ training, workshops and 1-1 consultations. All services and events are provided for free and open to everyone including children, young people, families and adults.
We know from years of research that people want to know how to empower themselves; they want to learn the skills to address their mental health and stay mentally healthy. For individuals seeking to learn the SEJ Process, we have easily accessible training events and services available via the website.
