Solo Parents United Football Club was founded in December 2023. It has been developed from it's partnership body Solo Parents United Northwest which now has 1.4k members and is supporting families both online and in the community. Our vision is to support solo parent families to make connections and friendships with other solo parent families. This enables them to be stronger together as a community and their children also make friendships.
Solo Parents United Football Club is designed to enable all kids to play football regardless of their family circumstances or ability at football. For example currently in grassroots football if a child wants to play in matches they are in a league. The alternate weekends the child in most cases visits their other parent who may live out of area or further away. This means they cannot commit to training and playing for the same club every week. We provide the solution by offering football coachiing every week and instead of league matches we will play friendly matches. We will occasionally enter tournaments too for those children who wish to be more competive. However the vision is provide fun, match time and learn strong mindsets.
