Solo Parents United Northwest Football Club is a brand new concept in grassroots football coaching both boys and girls from Under 7's and Under 8's age groups. The concept is to give football opportunities to children who cannot play football due to being co parented or living in a solo parent family and seeing their other parent on alternate weekends. The coaching sessions will be held at a location in Fylde and Wyre on Wednesday evenings. The coaching sessions will be FUN and there will be opportunities to put this into practice in friendly matches on weekends or in tournaments. I am a qualified level 2 coach with FA youth award modules and have done my coaching badges with Bolton wanderers and input from an England Grassroots coach. I have been coaching football for twenty years in both boys and girls football at all ages. We will be provide a FREE service to children who cannot access football. There would be a one off registration fee of £30 per child for the whole season.

What we'll deliver:

  • Qualified Coaching sessions at a cost ONLY to cover the venue.
  • Opportunities to play football matches in friendly matches.
  • Access to wearing a football kit for matches.
  • An indoor and outdoor venue to coach football.
  • GROWTH Mindset tools to give your children the skills to solve problems.
  • Opportunities for children to play football who do not get much game time despite what family unit they come from

Why it's a great idea:

SP United aim to enable children to play in a safe environment and develop their skills in football in FUN sessions. It will benefit young children in teaching them decision making skills, how to develop confidence which can be transferred later in life. The matches will enable children to play football regardless of their ability. We teach Growth mindset which is the belief that you can improve your abilities and talents with effort and persistence, not just talent or luck. The coaching sessions will not just coach football. They will enable your child to learn decision making skills, how to grow confidence and self esteem. They will learn what ANTS are, the biggest killers in sport? ANTs are Automatic Negative Thoughts. We aim to coach your child various mindset skills so they can have a strong and resilient mindset to transfer to other areas of their life as they grow and develop. We will coach Agility, Balance and Coordination which are key areas to develop at this age.

Steps to get it done:

  • Purchase the football equipment required and pay for the venue being used.

Solo Parents United FC will be provide a FREE football coaching service to children both boys and girls who cannot access football. There would be a one off registration fee of £30 per child for the whole season to cover club costs such as insurance per age group, first aid courses, safeguarding courses, FA coaching courses for the volunteer coaches, kits etc. We only charge for the costs of the use of a training facility, referee and tournament costs. This is a non profit organisation. Children who cannot commit to playing for a standard football club due to seeing their other parent can be flexible by playing for us due to their family circumstances. In the circumstances were a family cannot afford the registration fee I would look at each case individually and keep this information confidential if the fee was waivered. I have safeguarding/1st aid qualifications, full DBS and pub liability insurance, All this information on FAweb
