Musical Walkabout CIC is a community-focused music organisation creating inclusive, welcoming musical experiences that support wellbeing, connection and creativity across Kent since 2015.
We specialise in participatory music projects for people who may face barriers to accessing the arts — including older adults, people living with dementia, caregivers, and rural communities. Our work blends professional artistic practice with a strong social purpose: using music to reduce isolation, support identity, and build lasting community connections.
Our sessions are friendly, flexible and co-created with participants. Whether singing, listening, reminiscing or simply enjoying shared musical moments, we prioritise accessibility, dignity and joy. We work closely with local partners including community hubs, Memory Cafés, health organisations and dementia forums to ensure projects are responsive to real local needs.
Alongside delivery, we focus on legacy — developing resources, partnerships and skills that help communities continue benefitting from music long after individual projects finish.
At the heart of Musical Walkabout is a belief that music belongs to everyone: it can connect us, support wellbeing, and create meaningful shared experiences at every stage of life.
