By Swansea BiD
Swansea city centre has a large area of flat roofs that are currently wasted space. The idea is to install solar panels on these spaces so that we can make Swansea city centre an urban solar farm.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
Solar Swansea is a Swansea BID led project to create an urban solar farm on the flat roofs of Swansea city centre. We would attempt to secure government funding to install solar panels on as many of these flat roofs as possible. As part of this Swansea BID would form as many city centre businesses as possible into an energy consortium to use the energy produced. This combined with the Blue Eden project would potentially make Swansea city centre self-sustaining.
