Well, what a fantastic result! The Solar for Alston Schools project is fully funded, and will soon be saving Alston Schools money, as well as avoiding a good chunk of carbon emissions. It's only happening because of your support, as well as lots of local fundraising efforts which we pledged in over the last week. A special mention to Pennine Ways estate agents, whose very generous donation pushed us over the line. The 27 kw solar system is now on order with Love Solar and due to be installed in half term - the week after the next! We'll be bringing you some photos and videos of the install as it goes on and once it's complete. Once again, thank you for all your generousity, and you've played a great role in transforming our community. Tim, Maxine, Sandra and Kit - the AMCE Directors

Only two weeks to go!7 years ago

Hi Everyone! Its been a few weeks since we gave you an update on how things are going, but it's been busy! We've had a great few weeks of fundraising, as well as getting our project ready to deliver. Alongside our crowdfunding page we've had a number of donations by cash and cheque, which we'll pledge here in the following week or so. This takes the total amount left to raise to just shy of £2,000 in the last two weeks. We've also spoken with our installers, Love Solar, to finalise the arrangements for installing the scheme. Weather permitting it will be going on on Tuesday 28th May, with scaffolding going up the week before. However we need your help with a one final push - so please share our page online and talk to family and friends and urge them to donate. Its a big ask, but we're confident that with your help we'll make it. AMCE also have a good few activities planned. We've been working with some of the pupils at the school on a local music gig, and have been out speaking to Businesses around the moor to see if they are willing to donate. Finally, we need your help to claim the Gift Aid on your donations. If you're eligible to claim, drop an email to [email protected], confirming you're eligible. You also need to include your full name, address, postcode, and the amount you donated. If you've already told us you can claim, please get back in touch to make sure we have your full address. Spacehive does not ask for this as part of the standard email but HMRC need this for us to be able to claim the donations. Thanks again for your continuing support, and we'll be in touch again soon, hopefully to let you know how amazing you've been in transforming our local community. The AMCE Directors.
