Founded by parents in 1992, Shepley Preschool and Playgroup has been established in the community for almost 20 years. We are a not for profit run charity led by volunteer parent trustees who work alongside the management team. We work to the Early Years Foundation Framework, providing care for children aged 12 months to 10 years old. We support Shepley First School providing wrap around care with our Out of School Club for the children that attend.

With an increase of families wishing to attend our setting we are working hard to ensure that the building and site are kept in good order and can facilitate as many families as possible. After a successful fundraising project to raise £10,000 to replace the preschools leaking roof in 2020, we have now turned our attention to the rundown outdoor area.

Rather than simply replacing some broken play equipment we have decided to re-address the needs of our children and local wildlife by including in th re-design a nature area for the children to grown food and plants in and the installation of bug hotels and solar lights to teach about the importance of nature. We hope the new play area will encourage more outdoor play and learning whilst improving physical play and emotional wellbeing which is so vital in an Early Years Setting.
