Women online workout sessions: 'Women only booty camp fun, full body workout classes, involving both cardiovascular and resistance exercise, incorporating choreography with the loop band in some classes. Classes will take place once a week online for 1 hour. for 5 months Loop bands are required for this class but we will purchase the bands and deliver them to participants in advance of the sessions. Women sit & keep fit class: Fun & friendly workout session on a chair. This class is low impact and for beginners. It’s a safe, low-impact class that requires no equipment and includes an enjoyable choreographed routine, followed by toning exercises and stretching. Men’s Circuit Training session: Taking place online, live workouts for 1 hour a week no equipment required. Nutrition session: A 4 week programme taking place once a week to promote and sustain healthy eating, set goals and look at behaviour change, and motivation to achieve goals. All sessions are free to attend.

Why it's a great idea:
This project promotes healthy lifestyles and will improve the quality of life for adults in the Westminster area. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and government restrictions, it has been difficult for people to stay active and many older people have been isolated in their homes. We want to give people the opportunity to engage in online fitness and to be part of coordinated activities again. We will help men & women set and achieve specific targets in terms of fat loss, improving cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength, reducing the risk of heart disease, obesity, diabetes type 2 and offering post-natal fitness. As we age we tend to lose muscle mass & bone density, but weight training can slow that process down. Research shows that regular workout classes are good for strong bones, cardiovascular fitness and weight management. The online classes are a great way for losing weight, improving heart and lung function, strengthening bones, and giving you a general sense of wellbeing.
Steps to get it done:
Creative workout sessions online every week. It doesn’t matter if you are an absolute beginner or an athlete, these workout classes are aimed at everyone. The weekly programme will consist of: 1-hour weekly nutrition session: The course will run for 4 weeks (with a maximum 10 participants in each course via zoom). Once they have completed the 4 weeks course we will enrol another 10 participants for further 4 weeks. We aim to run 5 courses in 5 months and aim to reach 50 participants in total. The course structure is: 1) Promote and sustain healthy eating. 2) Challenges and how to overcome them. 3) Set goals and look at behaviour change, motivation to achieve goals. 4) Sustaining changes made. 3 x Workout sessions per week includes: • Participate in fun, creative and energy-boosting workouts that will help you shed that unwanted fat and stay active. The Projects aim is to encourage men & women to exercise regularly and encourage healthy lifestyle throughout the whole family.
