Down Syndrome Cheshire uses early intervention and support to form the building blocks of achievement so that children and adults with Down syndrome can reach their full potential and live the life they choose. Our charity supports over 300 people with the learning disability and their families. Our over-riding social aim is to unlock the potential of people who have Down syndrome so they can lead happy and fulfilling lives. Projects include education advocacy, speech & language therapy, employability, Makaton training, sport, dance, drama, forest school and peer support as well as support for parents and carers who have or are expecting a child with the syndrome. We also train health and education professionals to break down barriers and inform the wider community about Down syndrome so our members can be included and respected. We have recently moved into new larger premises in Northwich so we can offer even more services and activities to our growing membership.
