Our fundraising drive is just touching 80% - so keep spreading the word, the support is great and one last push will get us over the line. This video excerpt is from 2010. A young Venture group, fresh from the scout troop, spent a weekend building a bridge across a river for a couple in Tipperary. They identified some trees that were overgrowing on their land and we cut them down and turned them into a bridge. Some pre-cut lumber formed the guide-rails under the expert guidance of Frank Lawlor, our site foreman for the job. Yours truly did the video work and a modest amount of tree felling. The Venturers were industrious and diligent while also having some fun swimming in the river and enjoying their achievement during a good scouting weekend. This and other stories make the book an interesting account of what will be 100 years of scouting in Donore Avenue. We are within touching distance of our centenary and are getting excited about the celebration. Thank you for your support!

The pictures are from the recent Beaver Scout camp in Portlick. Every scout event involves planning by trained leaders. The 35th has been doing this for almost one hundred years and we celebrate our 100th birthday on 11th February 2028. Help us get this fundraising project over the line. Our centenary book is full of facts and stories and is about the same size as the first Harry Potter book! It won't take much to get us there so it is so important to share this drive with friends and colleagues so that they are aware and get the chance to support this with a donation. Every €5, €10 - €50 is a great step towards completing this project and help us publish this important centenary record. This week should see us reach 75% of our target - please help us get to 100%! So, please - share this with at least two contacts and let's get this done - Thank you

We often get together with our fellow scout groups to have fun, share skills and socialise. The photo is from our recent Beaver Scout trip to Portlick and includes some friends from Crumlin and Merchants Quay. I have read many other scout group histories and there are lots of really good ones out there. This publication is unique in that we have 100 years of records, scouting stories from members and research over several years to provide background and historical perspective. Delving into our documents, sound recording, pictures and video records gives us a precious account of our place in our community, Donore Avenue, and the important place we occupy in the local and national social fabric. This is almost the last update before this fundraising campaign closes at the end of June. Please encourage others to financially support this project; even €5 or €10 would be great. Thank you
