We want to fully repair, renovate and restore the large maple hall floor at Pelsall Community Centre. The hall is the heartbeat of the local community and used by extensive groups everyday. From ballroom dancing, baby sensory, school drama clubs, sports and fitness classes to school holiday camps - they all use our centre . However, the floor is in desperate need of repair to ensure it remains safe and fit for purpose for the next 30 years and generations to come.
Many of our dance and exercise groups have been using the facility for many years. Newer groups such as our Baby Sensory Group simply adore it because of it's flexibility and ability to keep clean and sterile. The hall contributes to healthy living because of its ability for large group exercise, for example, our Zumba class. Our resident group "inspire" promote physical health and well being to young people through sport, and when their activities need indoor space this area is ideal.
What we'll deliver:
- A community centre for all to access
- A multi use, diverse space
- A space to meet the cultural, recreational and educational needs of the community
- A warm, safe and secure space for people to meet, socialise, be entertained and engage in physical exercise.
Why it's a great idea:
A fit for purpose floor in the hall which is safe for our extensive users and will ensure the community centre remains the heartbeat of the community for generations to come
Steps to get it done:
- Securing the funding needed
- Striping the floor
- Sealing the Floor
The floor was purpose built for dance as semi-sprung maple floor. But that structure is resilient enough to meet the needs of all our users. It's important that this space remains available for many years to come.
