Salt making at the Salt Works - Marston

The Lion Salt work trustees would like to thank all Cheshire West Crowd contributors for their patience, as it is such a long time since we provided a project update. Due to the complexity of the Smithy restoration on a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and to keep the project on track, the Trustees have decided to invest in a temporary facility to demonstrate open-pan salt-making. The ‘salt shed’ will be used to demonstrate to visitors the techniques of open-pan salt-making and enable them to fulfil the outcomes, as outlined in the original project.
