SAFE - to ensure the safety of players through purchase of a boundary rope SUSTAINABLE - decrease energy consumption in our cellar SEEN - broadcast our games for those who can't attend on matchday
We have three aims to improve our club for its users and the community: SAFE - having carried out considerable work on the perimeter of the pitch, it is apparent that there are potential danger associated with players diving or sliding to stop balls on the boundary. We will purchase a boundary rope so that we can ensure that players are not at risk of injury and can play in a safe environment. SUSTAINABLE - our cellar represents the largest energy consumer onsite, accounting for around half of our total annual energy usage. We will implement cutting-edge technologies to reduce the energy requirements of our cellar cooling unit and beer chiller by approximately one-third, decreasing the club's carbon footprint and promoting environmental sustainability. SEEN - there are an increasing number of club supporters who love to attend games, but cannot due to ill health or reduced mobility. We will purchase equipment to stream games to ensure that they continue to feel part of our club.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
By purchasing a boundary rope, we will be able to ensure that all of our playing members are safe when fielding towards the perimeter of the field. We have a rapidly growing number of young boys and girls playing at the club, and their safety is our priority. As part of the club's wider commitment to protecting the environment, we will use technology to modernise our cellar. We aim to reduce energy consumption on our site (by over 20%) through the implementation of energy-efficient technology, thereby decreasing the club's carbon footprint and promoting environmental sustainability. The project will allow is to become more financially sustainable and mitigate future energy price volatility by decreasing our grid-energy reliance. By live-streaming our games, we will ensure that supporters who are unable to come to the ground, are still able to watch. This will be a lifeline to a number of elderly supporters who have health and/or mobility issues. Cricket is their hobby too.
