The idea
RVJAB want to extend our music festival beyond jazz and blues to appeal to a wider, family audience. We want to run youth and family orientated events preceding the festival which will result in performances that are part of the festival. We currently have over 40 venues involved each year but the majority are not appropriate for a younger audience, so we want to extend our offer to more unusual, and more family friendly venues, including, but not limited to the market and library.
What we'll deliver
- 10 music workshops around Clitheroe preceding the festival
- New music created by young people to perform at the festival
- 2 family friendly events within the festival
Why it's a great idea
We will introduce more young people to music and enable them to experiment and create their own. We will provide two new events within our festival that are focused on family enjoyment. We will also use these events to dispel the myth that the festival is elitist and limited, by creating community events that encourage everyone to get involved.

- Booking over 50 gigs during the May bank holiday weekend.
- Creating promotional materials
- Delivering over 45 FREE gigs during the May bank holiday weekend.
- Delivering at least 5 ticketed gigs during the May bank holiday weekend.
