Carterton Family Centre run a weekly timetable of low-cost activities for families with young children in the local area, offering a safe and welcoming place for parents and carers to bring their children. We provide sessions to help parents to engage with their children, helping to foster a bond through songs and play.
Our sessions help to further children's development and early education through play and by offering opportunities to interact with their peers.
Our sessions help to combat social isolation and loneliness by providing an inclusive place for people to meet other parents, to share and encourage one another in the challenges of parenthood. For those needing etxtra support we sign-post to relevant organisations.
We are running this campaign as we rely on external funding to run the family centre. We only ask for £1 donation per person to attend our sessions as we believe that we are a vital resource for the community and do not want cost to be a barrier. However, our toys and equipment are tired and in need of refreshing. We would love to be able to buy new equipment for our garden area for families to make use of our outdoor space. We would also like to buy blinds for our hall so that we can expand what we offer in the future such as light sensory sessions for babies and children with SEND and the possibility of offering discos for young people. We also employ 5 memers of staff to run our centre and need ongoing funding to continue to be able to run our sessions.
Thank you for considering supporting Carterton Family Centre as we look to continue our work with families in the local area.
