As a small local community club we are returning to recreational cricket with all the costs but little actual income due to the Covid-19 epidemic

The idea

As a club that has suffered a complete close down through the Covid-19 epidemic we have still had to maintain our cricket pitches & ground with the possibility of a return to recreational cricket. We still had to employ a groundsman and all the associated costs that go with ground and machinery maintenance, whilst earning no income.
From the 18th July we recommenced recreational cricket with additional costs to the club but very limited opportunities for income generation.

What we'll deliver

  • Maintain two senior teams - playing weekly
  • Maintain development of our Junior Section - open to all kids aged between 9 - 17

Why it's a great idea

The benefits of our project include:
- Local opportunity for children to enjoy coaching at a 12 year ECB
Chartered Status Club
- Health benefits to junior & senior players
- Involvement and personal development
- Multi cultural club developing ties across the whole community.

Steps to get it done

  • Maintaining playing surfaces
