The idea
We need to offset the financial losses of this season because we have had to pay our normal fixed costs, regardless of the Covid-19 crisis. (League fees, cricket ball purchase, ground maintenance, insurance and utility bills.)
Each Saturday, the club receives a £40 donation from the opposition to pay for the tea. The club member making the tea, donates the food to the club as a fundraiser. This season there were going to be 20 home games, which would have raised £800 alone.
Player match fees also raise approximately £50 profit per home match. We have lost 13 Saturdays completely, before cricket restarted, so a further £650, has been lost from our income.
This is an approximate shortfall of just under £1,500.
This will be our ultimate target in seeking your support.
The ECB will donate £100 to our cause if we receive pledges for £100. We want to ensure that there is a place for the whole community to come together to play, watch and enjoy cricket (and accompanying picnics!)
