The idea
We are currently undergoing a much-needed refurbishment of our Squadron Building which is located at RAF Woodvale. The refurbishment doesn’t include training resources as we have to provide that ourselves. We are a registered charity and fundraise for any equipment, activities or trips we would like to undertake.
With this new refresh of our Squadron building we would like to create a more fit for purpose and modern training environment which can be used as a Hub for other local Air Cadet Squadrons in the Sefton area to utilise.
With the regeneration we are asking for further funding to upgrade our Flight Simulation training equipment to allow us to use the best Flight Simulation software available with Virtual Reality to create a completely immersive training environment for the next generation of Cadets.
What we'll deliver
- Purchase of Computers for flight simulation use
- Purchase of VR Headsets
Why it's a great idea
We are committed to providing a suitable training environment for all our Cadets and one that fits into the modern teaching world. We currently have outdated projectors which are showing their age and computers that are struggling to cope with modern flight simulation software that we are using to train Cadets in the basics of flying operations.
We are hoping to create a modern training environment with this funding to ensure our Cadets and Staff have the resources available to teach, train and develop our young people for their futures, whether that is employment, further education or training.
As a voluntary organisation committed to helping young people, this is at the heart of what we do in the Air Cadet Organisation.
Steps to get it done
- Purchase of Flight Simulation Computers
