Chester Swimming Assoiation campaigned to save the City Baths successfully in1977 and have been operating the building since then. The baths are used daily by learners and experienced swimmers including babies, pensioners and all age groups in between.
The Baths were originally built in 1901 and the frontage is now a listed building. The Charity has a small team of staff including qualified lifeguards and an experienced pool manager who are supported by a team of volunteers and trustees.
The Baths are in the centre of Chester and bring large numbers of swimmers and parents into the city each day - given that some stores have closed and others are at risk, this footfall is very important to the recovery of our city
Finance is always a challenge and our volunteers are permanently in fund raising mode. This campaign is aimed at funding a pool cover for one of our 2 pools which will significantly reduce energy usage and cost.
