By Henfield Community Partnership
When the current Coronavirus situation allows we plan to hold a celebration Lunch and Awards for the key workers of Henfield, served up by the youth of Henfield, voted on by the community of Henfield
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
We plan to hire Henfield Village Hall and invite c200 key workers from the area (covering NHS, Care Home, Retail, and local heroes) for a celebration/recognition lunch. Children of the community will serve these people, establishing a legacy that will live on through their memories and stimulate positive behaviour in the future. We also plan to engage the local media/social media to nominate people for an awards aspect of the lunch, voted on by the community, in order to find and recognise those unsung heroes who went the extra mile and a half while everyone was going an extra mile We plan for this to be not just a Thank You to those who made such a difference during the Coronavirus period, but to also set an enduring cultural reminder of positive behaviour that will have an enduring impact across generations
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The benefits to the key workers are to show the appreciation of the whole community for what they did during the crisis. We want them to feel truly recognised for what they did. We want to additionally recognise those who went even further, as voted on by the Henfield community. We also want to establish and reinforce role model behaviour, how people should act in a crisis, that will engage and inspire younger generations and be passed forward, strengthening the future of our Community
Steps to get it done:
We plan to engage the local business community and local organisations and anticipate that we will fund the actual awards handed out from donations/contributions
