The idea
Queer By Gum FC is a Lancaster-based LGBTQ+ football team. Established in September 2023, our aim is to bring members of our community to engage and make connections through football, increase positive mental and physical health, with emphasis on inclusion.
We currently practise once a week at at a local pitch and play friendly matches against other local teams.
The plan for this fundraiser project is to raise money for 3 members of our team to receive Introduction to Coaching Football Training via England Football learning (including Intro to First Aid + Safeguarding), for our pitch hire cost to be covered for a year and for extra funds to cover costs of equipment and our football kits.

Why it's a great idea
Queer By Gum CIC is a community interest company based in Lancaster, which organises regular events and clubs for the local LGBTQ+ community in the North West. The Queer By Gum Football Club is one of the many projects currently running.
We continuously have new members joining our football sessions with approx. 65 people engaging with the project since it was first established. Numbers have increased consistently since beginning the club in September 2023. Funding for this project will allow us to expand the football team, provide training opportunities and continue to make it more accessible.
