Updates
Just to update everyone who pledged & donated to our Pots of Fun Project...unfortunately, the project didn't get off the ground as we went into Lockdown 1 just before the project was due to start. Also as most of our members are in their 70's, 80's & 90's they were shielding from the virus. I'm please to say though that everyone has now been vaccinated and we are hoping to start the project in June, albeit in a slightly adapted way to ensure all of our safety. We plan to complete 8 weeks of the project before the summer break, finishing off the final 4 in the Autumn. This means that we will be planting pots & raised beds up with winter flowers, pansies & winter salad crops, garlic etc, but it is better than waiting until the Spring of 2022. Our thanks to all contributors to the project - thanks for your donations and patience. We will get there! Sharing Memories.
Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
So excited! We're nearly there...We only have £49 to go to reach our target, with 22 days left to raise it. The last 2 pledges have come from one of the Sharing Memories members, who has been making face masks and selling them to raise funds. Fantastic work Cath! If anyone feels they can help us just that teeny weeny bit more, it would be great!
We're excited to report that this week, we got £250 closer to our target, as The Coop, Holmfirth pledged a grant to the project through the Coop Community Fund. That brings us to £9797, 94% of our target with 73 days to go. To help the Sharing Memories Members look forward to this project when it is safe for them to meet again, we delivered a small pack to them so they could grow some seeds whilst shielding in lockdown. It is outside the scope of this project but if coronvirus had not been here, we would be in the middle of this project, so we thought it would be good to deliver something to them to remind them of what is to come and also to provide an activity all could do whilst isolating at home.
Whoop, 30 people have pledged since fundraising began!
