Christmas Wishes donated to St Chads Primary Winsford for pupils requested by staff after our email in November. We work alongside St Chads alot, supporting them with donations of books and uniform as well as helping them at the end of the last school year when they held their very first School Uniform Exchange to help their school community recycle and reuse items while saving money. We look forward to continuing to work alongside them in the future.

Christmas Wishes 2023 Update 1 - Public Collection3 years ago

Before Christmas we managed to hand out 217 Christmas Wishes that we had received from local families, either requesting directly from us or via their schools. We covered children from newborn to 16 and also some older people who were alone at Christmas and not expecting a gift that were put forward by Very Green Grocery Winsford and our own volunteers. We made the collection day a festive event with music and additional help for families in the form of free chocolates and books for all recipient's, meaning everybody left with more than they requested. The money that we took during our pop Up Christmas Event and taken at our 'shop' this year allowed us to purchase these wishes, alongside generous donations from Arnold Clark Community Fund, DC Lomas and Amazon Wishlist purchases made and sent to us directly via members of the local community. We have had some wonderful feedback from school support workers and also from families directly that we will share shortly showing the impact that this small gesture of help has had on their mental wellbeing and families as a whole. By pledging towards our target you allow us to hold these events next year, making them bigger and better so we can increase our reach and help more families in need, working alongside local organisations, schools and community groups to try and ensure no families are missed.

https://www.radionorthwich.co.uk/replayer/kim-smith/ Last week Vanessa appeared on Kim's breakfast show to chat about GUBB, what we do and why we are running Christmas Wishes this year. Vanessa's interview is on from 11am which is one hour into the show if you want to go forward on the link and listen. Hopefully this will explain a little more about what we do and why we do it.

Christmas Event 2023 - 25/11/233 years ago

We held our Christmas Toy & Gift Community Event on Saturday, we had hundreds of people attend and Santa and his elves saw over 100 children for free and gifted each one a selection pack and Christmas Book to share at home. They also collected and extra 25 Christmas Wishes from local families needing help this year with a gift for their child(ren). We had huge amounts of pre loved toys, books, games and puzzles as well as lots of new items for people to be able to purchase and sort out their Christmas shopping. We were joined by community crafter's and sellers, there were silly Christmas head bands, Christmas jumpers, lots of music and treats and smiles. Huge thank you to all of our supporters, the community who attended and of course to our wonderful volunteers who give up their time to do this. 📸 Watch this video on Facebook https://fb.watch/ozryiPRVUm/
