Kingshill Close and Neighbours Group grew from the early days of the pandemic in 2020. We are a small group of houses, tucked away from busy roads yet in the heart of Malvern. In total, there are 65 households in our catchment area of Kingshill Close, Greenhill Drive and Fernhill Grove.
Some residents have been here since the site was developed and others are new to the area but everyone is given a warm welcome and is made to feel part of this special community.
Through it's creation and work to provide a community within the area, we have seen neighbours who had never really spoken to one another become friends; people who live on their own connect and a level of caring for one another that belonged to another age.
The whole community has supported and been involved in our activities, from our Scarecrow festival, VE day celebrations, Royal Ascot afternoon tea, and Easter festival, to songs around the tree at Christmas with mulled wine and mince pies for last two years running!
We have lost neighbours and come together to support relatives left behind, and we have celebrated new arrivals with the birth of Baby George in the middle of lockdown.
Planning a celebration afternoon tea for the Queens Plantinum Jubilee is a day that appeals to all, young and old. It promotes our ethos of cohesive community. We would like to buy a gazebo to ensure that festivities can go ahead depite the weather as well as make the event a day to remember for one and all.
