People's Museum Somers Town

Our mission is to create 'a space for us' to tell the stories of radical thinkers and social reformers and to preserve the character of a London working class 'town' at risk: Somers Town St Pancras.

Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.

Dear all, I'd like to thank you for supporting the People's Museum, and we are making good progress,  but I have a final favour to ask of you. Can you convert your pledge into a donation? Unfortunately we did not reach our target, because we did not get the expected Contribution from the Mayor of London, and that means we lost all 59 pledges - it being 'all or nothing'  So i am asking you kindly to donate directly to us so we do not lose your support.  And this way there are no fees - so every penny reaches us! So can you kindly donate to this moneypool: https://paypal.me/pools/c/8kMnAu7eky (Using the Spacehive platform meant there were 6% fees). I want to stress that the People's Museum is going to happen. We have received the backing of Camden Council and a commitment to funding us, and a premises. Please donate - we're going to make something amazing come into being! Donate directly to this link: https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8kMnAu7eky If you have any queries, please contact me. This page will close for pledges tonight. Wishing you a good weekend! Thank you for helping us get up to 56 backers and that gets us in with a chance of the Mayor's Fund on Monday. Breaking news - we're going to do a couple more events for #WomensHistoryMonth. One on Mary Wollstonecraft in April (her birthday month) so watch out for this with a surprise panel. No end of strong women in Somers Town! And a reminder of the great talk on Irene Barclay on the 31st March (online). More details here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/woman-pioneer-irene-barclay-tickets-144886799317 PS As you've pledged already, you get a ticket anyway. Have a good weekend, Diana
