More about our impact
The environment
It is creating an atmosphere of wellbeing within the community
The local economy
Visitors and bellringers are using the local public houses in Over Kellet and Nether Kellet
Volunteering, jobs & education
Numbers of volunteers have been assisting with the physical work of installing the bells during the last few months. Volunteers are now coming forward to learn to ring the bells, but this part of the project is still in its early days.
Arts, culture & heritage
Children from the school have visited and viewed the progress of the project. They have heard about the history of the church and bellringing and are being given the opportunity to learn to ring the bells in the future. Numbers of visitors from throughout Lancashire have visited the church to see the progress of the project and, recently, to ring the bells.
Activity, health and leisure
Volunteers helping with the physical work have improved their physical health and also used it as a leisure activity. Those learning to ring the bells now and in the future will find it will improve their mental and physical wellbeing as well as providing social interaction, teamwork and a fulfilling leisure activity. All those living in the local community within the sound of the bells will find it improving their mental wellbeing when the bells are ringing out to celebrate both major spiritual and secular events
