The idea
From large scale events like Krazy Races, the Pina Colada Festival and the Christmas Extravaganza, Northwich hosts a plethora of family friendly activity throughout the year. In the main, the activities at these events are free and generally paid for by local businesses through Northwich BID, Northwich Town Council and Councilors from Cheshire West & Chester.
We need support to see these events continue into the future, with the popularity of the events in 2022, it has led us to increase the infrastructure required to ensure events can take place safely, with staffing, security stewards, medical support and public facilities having to increase with the number of participants attending.
We also need support to ensure we can continue with the events that fill in the gaps between the larger events, things like the free Crazy Golf, Dinosaur Experiences, Crafting Workshops, Northwich Art Festival. We deliver all our events on a non-profit basis and work closely with local voluntary groups

Why it's a great idea
The benefits of delivering free events in Northwich have two angles, firstly by providing something for the local community that they can enjoy and experience right on their door step. Giving them something to further their pride in the town they live in. We know we have a very proud population in Northwich who can see that when it comes to events, we're ahead of the game compared to local towns around our area. Within our events we work hard to ensure inclusivity and through the funding, we will work with even more local groups.
The second benefit to the event delivery is that it helps support our high street, to provide bumper days where people visit the town centre and discover all it has to offer. Local businesses would much prefer to see people visit all of the time, but they know that these event days provide them with thousands of new customers who may discover them for the first time. Without local businesses, their would not be a town centre to host events in.

The majority of events in Northwich are not delivered by one singular organisation, they are generally lead by one partner, but are delivered through a strong partnership between Northwich BID, Northwich Town Council & Rotary in Northwich. Each organisation works to achieve its own goals, but within all of these there remains one that we all agree upon and that is to deliver outstanding, world class events in Northwich.
