By North Nibley Play Area Group
Help us fund part of Phase 2 of North Nibley’s play area, adding exciting equipment for children to climb, explore and enjoy the outdoors together.
North Nibley currently has only a small playground for pre-school children, leaving older children with nowhere local designed for them to play, climb and spend time together. We are creating a new play area for children aged 6–12 and their families, shaped by ideas gathered through school and community consultation. Phase 1 is now complete. This Spacehive campaign will help fund part of Phase 2, adding the larger multiplay unit, benches and associated installation to expand the facilities. The site is on the village playing field next to the school, making it easy to reach after school, at weekends and during the holidays. It includes Robinia hardwood equipment, grass mat surfacing and hedgehog-friendly access points. This community-led project will create a safe, welcoming place to play, help children be more active, and give families somewhere local to meet, sit and spend time together.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This project will give primary-aged children in North Nibley a safe, free and local place to play, be active and spend time with friends. At the moment, many families have to travel to other villages to find suitable play equipment for this age group. This part of Phase 2 will add more challenge and variety, with equipment for climbing, balancing and social play. It will help children use their energy positively, build strength and coordination, and enjoy being outdoors more often. The benches will give parents, carers and grandparents somewhere comfortable to sit, talk and watch, making the space more welcoming for the whole family. The play area is on the village playing field next to the school, so it is easy to reach and can be used after school, at weekends and during the holidays. Overall, it will create a better community space where families can meet, children can play safely, and older children have equipment that is designed for them.
