The idea
Over the next 6 months, Witney and West Oxfordshire Foodbank is looking to expand into a new, more suitable home in Witney. This new location will continue to be in central Witney so that it is convenient for those we support, but will give us a suitable private office space to meet those we support over a cup of tea and point them on to other services in the local area.
What we'll deliver
- Provide Vital Support To Our Clients
- Expand To A New Premises To Enable Witney Foodbank To Better Support Our Clients And Connect Them To Other Services
Why it's a great idea
Firstly, this will enable us to continue to meet the increased demand we’ve seen as a result of the Cost of Living Crisis over the past 5 years. Food poverty in Witney is a far bigger problem than many realise. We support over 5000 per year with vital, nutritious food parcels so that they don’t have to choose between heating their homes and going hungry.
More importantly, moving to a new home will give us a suitable space to invite those we support in for a cup of tea. By speaking to our clients at length, our dedicated team will be able to connect them far more effectively to other forms of support that are available to them. This in person support at a critical time will greatly increase our impact and help us break the cycle of poverty for our clients.
Steps to get it done
- Find A Suitable New Premises After Funding Secured
- Move To New Premises And Begin Meeting Clients Face To Face
