We have now received Planning Permission for Mumbles Railway Trail – a series of replica station signs and adjacent free-standing posts with QR code plaques to scan for further information including video footage. Additional information boards will also be provided at key station points. Our original plans included renovation of Southend Gardens waiting shelter exterior, but permission was not received for this work, since other usage is planned for the building by the Council. Funds budgeted for the shelter renovation will now go towards the trail signage, which will be made using traditional casting manufacture and materials as befits this heritage project and to ensure long lifespan for the signs.
