Crowdfund Walsall are able to provide funding for projects, which improve places, spaces or resident's quality of lives in Walsall. There is up to £3,500 or 40% of your project target available, per organisation, per year (following the calendar year from Jan to Dec). 

Our priorities include  

1) Prosperous and resilient communities with a strong sense of belonging and cohesion  

2)  People have increased independence, improved health and can positively contribute to their
communities.

3) Children have the best possible start and are safe from harm, happy, healthy and learning well

4) People are proud of their vibrant town,
districts and communities.

5) Protecting and enhancing our natural environment, reducing waste and increasing recycling.

6) Projects which demonstrate innovation and provide added value/additionality will be prioritised e.g. use of volunteers, utilising new technology.

All projects must be located within the borough boundaries. Crowdfund Walsall is only able to match-fund projects that are being delivered by constituted organisations including registered charities, community groups, social enterprises, residents or trader associations, local charities and schools.

Our platform will be used to bring ideas to life across Walsall. We welcome projects that bring people together, build on community spirit or enhance the places and spaces of our borough. We want to support creative, locally-led proposals that help the area recover and grow stronger.

Outcomes we envisage from projects that have been funded through Crowdfund Walsall include; Community cohesion, better relationships and partnerships, improved health inequalities and environmental impact.

Crowdfund Walsall is a civic crowdfunding platform. This means that projects which benefit the area of Walsall will be considered. We cannot fund projects for individuals that do not have a wider public benefit. We also cannot fund business development or business start up costs. We will not fund profit making organisations and businesses that can not demonstrate their social aims, benefits and achievements.

1.    EXPRESSION OF INTEREST/ ATTEND A WORKSHOP

Complete our Expression of Interest Form as soon as possible to inform us of your project idea and knowledge of crowdfunding. 

2.    PROJECT PAGE AND PITCH

Create your project page on Spacehive which will match you to the Walsall Council fund. Make sure you are aware of the current deadline for each round which is listed here. 

3.    VERIFICATION

The project costs and necessary permissions will be checked and verified. This involves checking quotes for all the major items and if you have landowner permission for your project.

4.    CROWDFUNDING

Being your crowdfunding campaign. Start by getting lots of small pledges from the community to show local support for your project. This will help unlock bigger pledges.

5.    PLEDGE

The council will review all project campaigns and successful projects can expect to receive a pledge of up to 40% usually a month after the crowdfunding campaigns begin.

6. HIT YOUR TARGET AND DELIVER YOUR PROJECT 

You can expect your funds to arrive into your bank account 10 working days after you hit your target.
