Improve and maintain the outdoor bowling facilities and start indoor bowling for all ages within the local community at Longton VM.
We have two outdoor bowling greens which we want to be used by all ages within the local community. They need annual maintenance to be playable throughout the year, which we need funding for, as one unfortunately had to be closed last year. We also have a function room big enough for an indoor bowling facility that can be used throughout the winter months to help keep people active. To achieve this we will need to purchase a mat and sets of indoor bowls. We will also need to purchase sets of junior bowls for use by the local primary schools. The aim is to give more members of the local community access to a facility enabling them to undertake a moderate degree of regular and enjoyable activity. We are also planning a Family Fun Day to attract all ages to the club on a day where we can promote the facilities. There will also be an end of season get to together to further cement the relationship with the community and to launch the indoor facility.
