Kane FM Youth Project
High Sheriff of Surrey web siteI had a great morning with Jenniann and Gid at Kane FM Youth Project’s hub in Farnham. I saw the mixing desk in full flow as a young person, being guided by Gid, was mashing up a couple of drum and base tracks. They guide young people towards a Level 3 Art Award but also crucially help them with any problems they are undergoing, all on a shoe-string budget funded by generous grant awards. Volunteering, jobs & education
All young people have increasd their digital music skills, some have a better knowledge of broadcasting. Some have been helped to stay in education and two are being helped with employment. One has been supporte into their own accommodation. two are presently being supported through making decisions on next steps.
Arts, culture & heritage
5 young people have completed an Arts Award Explore and it will be sent for moderation next month All the young people have improved self-esteem and incresed confidence.
Activity, health and leisure
All the young people we have worked with over the last 4 months have improved their confidence and lowered anxiety. One young person has now been put in touch with another organisation to further their skills with the keyboard.
