The rising national crisis is evident, with frequent news reports on the state of children's mental health services. Across the country, the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are reporting waiting lists of up to 3 years. This has to change if we are to gain control over this heart-breaking situation. The third sector is becoming more crucial in supporting statutory services to ensure mental health problems can be addressed early to avoid long term implications on communities.
We believe NO child should have to reach crisis point before accessing mental health support.
All of our services are designed to support the challenges families face. We therefore include poverty support in our approach, as this is a leading factor in mental health problems in the communities we reach.
We work with statutory services, the local authority and the voluntary sector to identify gaps in provision and to assist the many families who often have nowhere else to turn.
