Masbro community centre is now running on sunshine!
LBHF Council WebsiteCllr Sue Fennimore, Deputy Leader at H&F Council, believes the new solar panels can inspire others. “The Masbro Centre has proved what can be done with a clear message and a well-run campaign,” she said. “I hope it will be the first of many groups in the borough to tackle their energy costs, so less is spent on energy and more is focused on community work, while being kinder to the planet.”

More about our impact
The environment
We have exceeded predicted target of 19000 KWh produced in the first year, and produced 20020 kwh of power. We avoided 6 tons of CO2 emissions, the equivalent of a 50000 mile car journey or planting over 300 trees.
The local economy
We hope that the campaign helped the local economy by raising the profile of the businesses that contributed to our fundraising efforts. We also have saved £1200 in costs which will be spent on supporting the community.
Volunteering, jobs & education
Money saved and generated will also go towards the maintenance of the centre. Maintaining the centre means we can continue to support the local community providing volunteering opportunities, and providing job search and careers advice.
Arts, culture & heritage
Money saved and generated will also go towards the maintenance of the centre. Maintaining the centre means we can continue to provide art and pottery classes to the residents of Hammersmith & Fulham
Activity, health and leisure
Money saved and generated will also go towards the maintenance of the centre. Maintaining the centre means we can continue to provide a wide variety of health and leisure activities.
